Advent Workshop For All - November 18

Meet in the Parish Hall at 9:30 a.m. or after the 10:30 a.m. service.

This year we will have our Advent Workshop early so we will be ready when Advent begins Sunday, December 2. During the four weeks in Advent, we wait and prepare to celebrate Christ's birth on December 25. And, again this year everyone is invited to decorate a grocery bag, and in the spirit of giving, each day in Advent add an item of food to the bag, with  a stick-on Bible verse that tells the story of Christ's birth.  All decorating supplies will be provided. All you need to bring is your generous spirit for Advent. We will bring the filled bags to church on the first Sunday of Epiphany, Jan. 6 the day we celebrate the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child.

Mark You Calendars Now to Take the Bethlehem Walk

Again this year, St. Aidan's will join with Kings Grant Presbyterian Church, St. Nicholas Catholic Church and Lynnhaven Methodist Church to tell the story of Christ's birth at Bethlehem Walk.  Imagine the tiny village of Bethlehem 2000 years ago...register your family with the census taker at the gate, walk the crowded streets, visit the bustling marketplace and talk with the vendors busy in their shops. Hear a story at the well, worship with the rabbi in the synagogue, but beware of the Roman soldiers who patrol the streets to keep order in the seemingly insignificant Judean town. See the shepherds watching their flocks under the winter sky. Listen to the villagers talking in hushed voices about seeing angels and the birth of a very special baby. Keep your eyes and ears open to whatever miracles may occur. But don't plan to stay overnight: The inn is full! Come to Bethlehem Walk at Kings Grant Presbyterian Church Nov. 30 (6-8 pm) Dec. 1 (3-8 pm) and Dec. 2 (1-6:30 pm)
